The Direct Marketing Association UK (DMA) was formed in 1992 and is the largest trade association for the marketing and communications sector in Europe.
Their aim is to maximize the members’ value at the same time as enhancing consumer trust and confidence in the industry. They achieve this by promoting best practice and raising industry standards through the ‘DM Code of Practice’, best practice guidelines and the DMA awards. The DMA also provide up-to-date information, as well as research and legal advice.
Jan Morris, a mailmarketing director, has been working in the direct marketing industry for over 25 years in client, agency and service sectors. In October 2009 she won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Scottish Advertising Awards in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the direct marketing industry.
Jan’s membership to the DMA started in 1995 and she is currently the chair of DMA Scotland, a DMA Board member and a DMA Advisory Council member. She is a past chair of the Response Management council and a member of a cross trade association team, which was responsible for the development and implementation of the Accredited Response Management (ARM) scheme. She remains as the chair of the ARM Advisory Council.
